Unspoiled Mediterranean Beaches

There are plenty of beaches to choose from in Gozo. Whether Ramla Bay for its fine golden sand or Marsalforn for its pebbles and kiddies favourite, or Dwejra for the calm, gentle inland sea or Xlendi. There are plenty of hideaway bays too. Whichever you prefer all have a shallow slope into the beautiful Mediterranean sea.

Gozo Cittadella Print Email

The Cittadella is in the centre of Gozo, Malta's sister island. The small fortified town is situated on a promontory sited over the town of Victoria (also known as Rabat). This vantage point was obviously chosen because it was a naturally fortified hill which dominated the surrounding countryside and provided visual control of the coastal areas. The geological and geomorphological characteristics were ideal to support ancient settlements and provide a foundation for town development.

The Dwerja inland sea beach known as Il-Qawra by the locals, constitutes the lowest spot of Gozo. The Inland Sea is an expanse of shallow water set in a deep recess in the rock coastline produced by the caving in of the surface above subterranean caves. Located at the bottom of a cliff from San Lawrenz village. With the dramatic arrival one sees Fungus Rock, a fort and at the base is the famous Azure Window.
