Greens Cycling club recently organised the ''Gozo Classic '' road race in Xaghra. The event was made possible with the collaboration of the Xaghra Local Council and the Gozo Police. It was sponsored by Greens Supermarket, Golden Harvest, Kristal Water, Danone and BBB bike parts.

The last four days of June developed into a considerable tourism-related activity in Gozo as both foreign and Maltese tourists visited the island over the long weekend. The registered unemployed in May increased by 1,248 when compared to the same month last year, bringing the number to 7,266. The National Statistics Office said there were 6,501 registered unemployed in Malta and 765 in Gozo.
